This is a static website with no accounts, no comments, no newsletter and no forms. There is nothing on it that asks you for personal information, and nothing that could store it if you offered.

The two calculators

The entry audit and the lock fit checker run entirely in your browser. Your answers are held in the page’s memory while you are on it and are gone when you close the tab. Nothing is written to browser storage, nothing is sent to a server, and no result is associated with you in any way.

Hosting and logs

Pages are served by a hosting provider, and any web host records ordinary request information such as an IP address, a timestamp and the page requested, for the purpose of delivering the site and keeping it running. That is standard server operation rather than anything this site does with your data.

Images and outbound links

Product images are served from Amazon’s image host, which means your browser makes a request to that host when a gear page loads. Affiliate links to Amazon carry a tag identifying this site, and when you follow one, Amazon’s own privacy terms apply to what happens next. Links to government and standards bodies are ordinary outbound links with no tracking added by us.

Cookies

This site sets none. If a hosting provider or the fonts served with the pages set anything technical, it is not used by this site to identify or profile anybody.

Children

This site is written for adults making decisions about their own homes and is not directed at children.
